FAQs

What kind of work do you do?

I support schools in building equity-centered systems where belonging, creativity, and deep learning thrive. That might look like reimagining a hiring process, redesigning professional learning, facilitating leadership retreats, or building a long-term strategy rooted in your school’s mission and values. My work lives at the intersection of equity, instruction, and systems design.

Who do you typically work with?

I work with educators who are leading beyond the classroom—DEI Directors, Division Heads, Assistant Heads, Deans, and teacher-leaders—especially those navigating complex change, equity strategy, and school culture. If you're asking big questions about how to make your school more mission-aligned, inclusive, and joyful, you're in the right place.

What’s your background?

I’ve served on senior leadership teams at two Bay Area independent schools, led major strategic initiatives, and facilitated learning across the U.S. and abroad. I hold a Master’s in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership from Stanford University and have Needfinding for Systems Change at the Stanford d.school. I’ve completed instructional coaching coursework through the California Teacher Development Collaborative (CATDC). My work is grounded in my work as a classroom teacher, deep curriculum and pedagogical training, and a commitment to radically inclusive learning.

What’s your experience with curriculum and pedagogy?

Curriculum and pedagogy are two of my greatest professional joys. I’ve designed curriculum as a classroom teacher and as a school leader, and I studied instructional design and teacher learning at the graduate level. I’ve also completed coaching coursework through CATDC and led professional learning focused on shifting instructional practice in independent schools. I believe that inclusive curriculum and equitable pedagogy are not add-ons—they are the foundation of student belonging and deep learning.

Is this just DEI work?

Equity is my lens, not my lane. I partner with schools on strategy, leadership, culture, and learning—always through a human-centered, equity-informed approach. This isn’t about performative programming. It’s about building the kind of school where everyone can thrive.

Do you help with strategic planning?

Yes—especially when you’re ready to move from big vision to grounded, values-aligned implementation. I help teams name priorities, design systems that reflect those commitments, and align daily practice to the mission you care about.

What makes your approach different?

I approach school transformation as both a systems thinker and a deeply human educator. I listen closely, design intentionally, and help uncover the creative strategies already alive in your community. My work blends instructional expertise, equity-centered leadership, and strategic design.

What’s your facilitation style like?

Warm, clear, and deeply intentional. I create participant-centered space for honest reflection, creative problem solving, and collaborative momentum—always with care, clarity, and curiosity.

We’re just starting this work. Is that okay?

More than okay. I meet teams exactly where they are—without shame, jargon, or judgment. Whether you’re building something new or reimagining what already exists, we’ll take an asset-based approach and build from what’s strong.

Do you offer long-term partnerships?

Yes. I’m especially excited to build long-term partnerships that support sustainable change over time—through strategic advising, team coaching, and systems-level design.

Do you work with teams as well as individuals?

Yes. I facilitate retreats, workshops, and multi-day sessions for faculty, staff, senior leadership, and boards. I also offer executive coaching and ongoing consulting partnerships for deeper systems work.

Do you offer custom workshops or retreats?

I only offer custom workshops. Every school is different. I design engagements that fit your context, your community, and your goals. Let’s co-create something meaningful—and built to last.

Do you work in person or virtually?

Both. I travel for in-person engagements, but also work virtually with schools across the U.S. and internationally.

Do you work with schools outside the U.S.?

Yes. I love working with international and cross-cultural school communities. I bring a diasporic perspective to my work and work to center cultural responsiveness in every engagement.

What can I expect from coaching with you?

Coaching with me isn’t prescriptive—it’s generative. I believe you already hold the insight you need to move your work forward. My role is to help you surface that wisdom, clarify your strategy, and build tools that align with your values. Sessions are structured, reflective, and actionable—designed to support real shifts in your day-to-day leadership.

How does the coaching process work?

I offer a 3-month package that includes six 1:1 sessions, targeted tools, and between-session planning support. We’ll begin by identifying a challenge or opportunity you’re holding, then work together to unpack it, map out strategy, and build structures that support sustainable change.

Can you work with my whole team?

Yes. While I work with individuals, I also support schools with team-based work—everything from hiring process redesign to strategic equity planning. If you're curious about a larger engagement, let's talk.

How do I explain this work to my Head of School or Board?

I’m happy to help. I can coach you on walking through the goals, scope, and value of the work. My aim is to support alignment across your leadership team.

How do I know if this is the right fit?

The best fit often starts with a stretch. If you're feeling stuck, stretched, or ready to lead differently—but unsure where to begin—you’re not alone. I bring a thoughtful, asset-based approach that honors your context, your capacity, and your commitments. Let’s have a conversation and see what feels right.
